Bob Sherwood, one of the main editors of the Financial Times had the time of his life the other week as he was the guest of the NASF's Orri Vigfússon on the Sela and Big Laxa.

Sherwood spent two and a half days fishing the Sela and landed 33 salmon. Yes, you read right, 33. Before exiting to Akureyri to catch his flight back two Reykjavík he spent the night at Vökuholt, the lodge of the lower Big Laxa beats and the following morning he was able to fit in two hours of fishing one of the main pools. Guided by Orri who took the rod now and again, they hooked salmon after salmon over the two hours, all of them big so it's fair to say that they had the rod bent into an arch for the duration of the two hours. Five broke off, four were landed, among them a twenty pounder, shown here by Orri Vigfússon.  “Bob is an experienced angler. He told me as we said our good byes that he had never in his life had such a fishing experience,” Orri told us.
