Today we welcome to our clientele the outfitter of Straumfjardara. Straumfjardara is a delicate medium volume river in the central west of Iceland. One of Iceland‘s best when counting the catch per rod per day.
Straumfjardara is the western most of a string of top flight rivers on the Snaefellsnes peninsula. It is unique for Iceland in the way, that it is the only river in Iceland with 3-4 rods, yet with full service accomodations. In fact there is a superb new lodge on the river. Strauma had a brilliant season last year and finished with a massive total of 718 salmon on the 3 to 4 daily rods, despite being hit by long draughts. Phenominal runs were not to be denied and the fishing was superb throughout the season.
