Minnivallalaekur has been gradually improving following some nasty conditions for most of the current month. It is further inland than the usual spring rivers so while the weather may be ok close to the coast, it can be a lot more undesirable inland, which has been the case. But spring is here now and the river is picking up.

We spoke to the outfitter Throstur Ellidason and he told us that some of the groups had actually been fishing in high northerly winds and sub zero tempertuers while anglers in the more coastal rivers had been basking in the unique northern spring. „But things are looking better now. Some of the unlucky groups had only a few fish and one or two actually none, while a recent one landed twelve browns which is a great improvement and by far the best group so far,“ Throstur told us.
