Excellent start for Sela

Sela in Vopnafjordur had an excellent start to the season this morning, with four rods hooking and landing six salmon frm various pools. Conditions have been mixed but the water level is good and the starting party saw quite a few fish.

Three of the six were caught below the Sela falls, two from pools further downriver and one actually above the falls. Not all where mws‘s, their were some grilse which is unusual for Sela at this stage of the season. Specialists are predicting that it is a sign of bigger than average grilse runs. But we will have to see about that in due course.
