Langa is blooming

Langa is blossoming to life these days. The runs are encreasing and the fishing is picking up accordingly. All the river is now producing and no one can longer say that they have got lucky having been allocated the best beat!
Yesterday produced twenty salmon, most of them on the morning shift, as these days we have a heat wave in Iceland. Every day we have twenty plus centigrade and that will always pull down the productivity.
Hubby freezing the moment and praps getting mildly in the way at the same time!
But every morning shift things pick up again. This morning one rod on the mountain beat pulled out the quota, 5 salmon, in a mere two hours. Which goes to show that every beat is a possibility. The sea foss and the bottom pools have been filling up at the same time.
Over the last few days several anglers have caught their first ever salmon on Langa, among them Greta Guðbrandsdóttir. We were lucky enough to be close by when she hooked her first ever salmon. The photos show the drama.
