Eldvatn off with a bang!

Eldvatn started off well. It was opened on the first of April and this is the first time it is fished during the early spring retreating run so it has been monitored curiously. And what a great start! The first group had 18 sea trout landed over the first day and a half. They also hooked and lost at least as many.

 „We can only tip our hats and say thank you God. The river of course has a spring run like all the other rivers but as there has never been any spring fishing no one really knew where the fish tend to hold at this time of year. So the first groups will be doing a lot of exploring. The first group did really well and what was really nice was the fact that they caught fish all over the river, not just in some few places far down the system. These were excellent sea trout and in good condition. The biggest were 80 centimeters which accounts for a 12 pounder,“ Pétur Pétursson told us. This is his first year as the operator of Eldvatn.
