Breiddalsa: The end of the draught!
„The river turned to some semblance of hot chocklate. The fishing stalled while it was at its worst but it looks like there will be no more low water this year,“ Throstur Ellidason of Strengir told us. Last night 236 salmon had been written into Breiddalsa‘s online catch book. Yesterdays flood restricted the days catch to three but things will improve when the levels settle again after the downpour. There plenty of salmon and the river boasts one of the very best mws ratios compared to grilse, in the country. Recently grile runs have dominated the catch but the big ones are there all the time, adding to the anglers drama.
