Breiddalsa rumbles toward a new record

Breiddalsa is rumbling towards a new record catch bettering its „old“ record the dates „way back“ to last year! The going has been great on Breidda all season long and it seems only an accident can stop a new record statistic for the river beinig acheived.
Last night the river had produced 940 salmon, the day having produced 14 fish for the catch book. Being a late starter, Breidda is fished throughout September so there is quite a bit of fishing time left. And as the conditions are excellent plus the fact that the river is stacked with fish....plus the fact that there are still fresh grilse running, a record is well within the sights. Last year was a record breaking season for Breidda, as it not only for the first time hit a four figure total, the final count was a massive: 1.178. So Thröstur Elliðason, the outfitter at Strengir, is obviously doing something right, with more than a little help from his friend, mother nature.

Jökla´s record
Thrösturs near by Jökla project is just getting better and better, it already has its best ever total, last Wedensday night the river systems total was 378 salmon plus loads of trout. Last years best ever total was 305 salmon so we already have a new record. The system is fished deep into September just like Breidda, so we are obviously looking at a shattered record on Jökla.
