We reported earlier on Grimsa's outstanding first day as the catch exceeded 40 salmon. Well, it did not stop there did it? Following two days of fishing, 84 salmon had been landed.

This is one of the very best starts on the Grimsa ever. Some are saying ”The” best ever. Outfitter Jón Thor told us that this was only partially down to the outstanding early runs. “The fact is we had conditions that were almost out of this world. Warm cloudy days with faint winds to ruffle the surface and a good water level. Since the first group finished we have had some prolonged western winds which is less good in the western part of Iceland. The second and third groups did ok though, the former had 29 salmon, the latter 28 fish, so nobody was complaining. All along there non stop action as the salmon were teasing by rising repeatedly to hitched flies and snatching at them so anglers could feel the pull, yet had little chance of hooking up!”, Jón said. So all in all, a great start for Grimsa…
