Haffjardara: New record could be in danger

Haffjardara is is excellent shape so far this season. Last year saw an astonishing record catch that would be hard to better. But after a start like this, who would bet against it?

At the end of last week, 505 salmon had been listed in the catch book and since then we have heard that the fishing has continued to be excellent and is now close to 600. We feel that this is more than at the same point last season. The final statistic last year was a whopping 2.010 fish and we might just yet see it bettered. What needs to be remembered about Haffjardara is that it is fished with varying rod numbers, going down as low as four in some groups and hardly ever more than six. This makes the average catch per rod among the highest seen in the country.
