Great start for Hafralonsa

Fishing the remote northeast Hafralónsa started wedensday morning and the anglers on location reported that the river has some very strong early runs this year. They had landed ten mws's on two rods on the first three shifts.
Most of the fish are holding at the Gusti falls in the canyon upstream of the lodge and also in the Stapi pool directly below the fosspool. According to Einar Falur, one of our contributing photographers, who ws fishing the river, the salmon were all fine mws's ranging to 90 cm. “The river is high and fast so we were using cone headed Frances tubes and weighed Snaeldas. This has really been far better and more fun than we had dared to hope for,” Einar told us.
The Stapi pool is at the top of the pix and at the moment it is full of fresh run salmon.
