A new management structure for the River Hofsá will be launched in 2011. Fishing opportunities will be offered to all those who have previously been river clients and a few new groups will be welcomed.

A press release from the new outfitters, the managers of the river Selá, Fishing Club Strengur,  reads as follows: “Anyone interested in reserving a place on the River Hofsá in 2011 is requested to fill in the attached application form.  Closing date for applications is 17 September 2010 and all those received by then will be considered in late September. We shall subsequently contact everyone concerned.

A very few places are still available to fish the Hofsá in late August and early September this year. The vacant slots are all between August 26 and September 4, 2010.

The Strengur Fishing Club has leased the Selá river for many years and we have worked with great success to enhance  the spawning stock. As a result the yearly catches have greatly increased and the Selá now offers some of the very best fishing that Iceland can provide. Openings to fish the river Selá are also very rare but a few remaining slots in this year's programme for the Selá remain unfilled.

The spots still available for the Hofsá in 2010 are:
 August 26 – September 4

The spots still available for the Selá in 2010 are:
August 15 – 19 and September 1 – 4

Enquiries should be sent to orri@sela.is or to Strengur, Skipholti 35, 105 Reykjavik, Iceland.  Application forms can be found at http://www.sela.is/
