Big salmon feature on the "big" Laxa
A foreign guest with a 101 cm cock fish from the big Laxa a few days ago.
The fishing has been picking up gradually on the big Laxa in Adaldalur over the past several days. The river is more quality than quantity with big salmon featuring more regularly than on most other rivers. There have been several 20-pound-plus so far this season.
The Nes beats are famous for these big salmon and several have already been recorded in the catch book at Nes. They are from 20 to 22 pounds while even bigger ones have been spotted and even hooked and lost. On the lower beats it has been much the same and grilse runs have been appearing on the bottom beat of the river while mws‘s have been dominating the catches so far.
