Huge salmon as Laxa in Adaldal opens

Fishing on the Nes beats has not yet started, however beats further downriver on the Big Laxa in Adaldal were opened for fishing yesterday morning. Two huge salmon were landed!
The first salmon was caught on the mid-river Núpar beats, a 22 pounder and the angler in charge lost another that was thought to be at least as big. Downriver on the Laxamýri beats, a 20 pounder was hooked, landed and released. Further salmon were seen down there as well as upstream, however weather conditions were not favourable and there where no more takers. Putting some humor into it, while we would have liked to see more salmon landed, it is in its own way unique to be able to say that the average weight on the first shift was 21 pounds!
