Nordura 2008 season was brilliant. The river finished with an astonishing total of 3.308 salmon which is a record catch for the river. It‘s former record was established in 2005 and totalled 3.138 salmon. This was not the least a superb season due to the fact that the water levels became very low for several weeks during prime time. It was much the same as in 2007, the main difference being that the runs this year were far more powerful and the fish were starting to run at an earlier date.

The fishing was simply amazing. The top group caught over 300 salmon which would during a normal fine season be a respectable tally for three prime time groups. One day produced 136 salmon. To put things into better perspective, the average catch from Nordura over the past ten years is 1.853 laxar and last season the river totalled 1.447 salmon.

You can never expect a record every year but the foundations and implications for the coming season are outstanding as the juvenile stock in the river is very good and good runs of smolts left the river during the summer.
