Nordura has been plummeting these past weeks due to the heat and lack of rain. However things are not as bad, water level wise, as the last two years, the fish are running and although the fishing is difficult due to the conditions, very respectable statistics are being filled into the catch book every day. The last two three day groups have caught a combined total of 320 salmon with at least as many hooked and lost.

With the water at a low level and the endless hot and sunny days, the only way to coax a salmon to your fly is by using long fragile leaders and very small flies or hitch tubes. But that will get you results. The last group finished with 133 salmon, the group before 187. These are respectable totals according to the difficult situation, yet during last years record season, thee day groups were for a while catching the same amount as six day totals this year. The river however is full of fresh runs so if the conditions improve soon, the bonanza will continue well into the season.
