Looking at several other pools following our article on Hnausi on Vatnsdalsa it is astonishing how prolific very small pools on tiny streams can be. One such pool is the Bridge pool on the Leirvogsa which stands at best as a small stream. Yet it is one of the countries best salmon “rivers”.
The Atlantic salmon season of 2009 is fast building on the horizon. And it comes on the back of such a stunning record season that hardly anybody knows what to expect this year. But for the most part people have concluded that the coming season has a considerable margin for slipping from 2008 without losing a label of excellence.
Andakílsá is generally a good river with a relaxed atmosphere. Its usual haul is anything between 150 to 300 salmon, according to conditions all round. The season of 2008 was however unlike anything that had come before. The river was stacked with fish and the fishing throughout the season was by far the best ever.
