Faskrud had one of its best seasons ever. The total catch was 432 salmon on the two to three daily rods making this the second excellent season in a row. 2007 was considered very good with a total of 322 salmon.
Those who have followed Faskrud’s fortunes say that the 2008 season is the third best for the river over the last thirty years and only a golden spell during 1986-88 was in the same league.
Most of the catch last summer was grilse in superb condition. There were though far more mws’s salmon, many in the 8 to 13 pound class and the biggest for the season was a 16 pound cock fish caught in late July.
