Stunning start for Gljufura.....
Several of the smaller rivers have been opening today and recently. One of them in particular has gone way beyond expectations. That would be the three rod river Gljufura in Borgarfjordur. The river was opened up for fishing this morning and the action was so hectic that experts are stating that a better start has never been recorded.
Good season for Gljufura
Gljúfurá had its best total for quite some years as a 315 fish total was established. That is up by 40 to 50 fish compared to 2007 which was a pretty good season as well. At its total best this river has once or twich exceeded 700 so we are far from a record here.
