Hítará 2

A "fishy" pool on Hítará 2.
This is the upper self catering beat of this notable and beautiful river. Read more of its origins and a general description under Hítará 1. This section is several kilometers, many of which are pretty tough to negotiate due to difficult terrain. It is a beat for the fit and adventurous and fished with two to three daily rods according to the time of the season.
As a whole Hítará had a stunning record season in 2008 with a total of 1.289 salmon. Both the beats were superb but if anything, the upper beat upstaged the lower more celebrated one this year, as it accounted for 541 salmon most of them caught during the two rod spell, while four to six daily rods produced 748 salmon on the lower beat.
