Skoga had a massive season and a record of 1.560 salmon, some 700 more than the previous record dating only back to the year before. Skoga has been climbing upstairs every season over the last few years and who knows what 2009 may have in store although one should never expect a record every year!

Most of the Skoga run was big grilse, many of them 6 to 8 pounds, wild fighters on light tackle, and the river is especially suited for that, namely light tackle. Fish up to 20 pounds were caught for the hatchery yet the biggest that fell to anglers were several 18 pounders. The river has consistently provided big fish, and Ásgeir has always tried to pair together mws-salmon for the brood stock.
