Stora Laxa had a fine season for 2008, a total of 425 salmon which is 187 over the total from 2007. Both seasons though have had low water conditions and it is fair to say that although this is a good total for Stora Laxa looking at some statistics over the years, people were hoping for a better display due to the net buyouts. However they were for the most part further down the river system and benefitted Sogid more than Stora Laxa.

Stora Laxa has patterns, it used to have brisk early season runs of mws’;s but they have dwindled. Mid season runs have sometimes entered if the water levels are favorable. However the best part of the season has long been considered the final weeks as autumn rains push the runs up from the junction pool Iða. This was very much the case this season. Anglers visiting the river early or mid season are though always treated with some action every now and then, sometimes when least expecting.
