Svalbardsa doing well

An aprox 18 pounder recently caught in the Laxahylur pool.
Svalbardsa in the northeast is doing very well and has good runs containing both grilse and mws‘s. There was a spell when long standing draught were beginning to tell, but the problem passed and the river has been healthy.
According to the outfitter Jón Thor Júlíusson, recent groups have been landing and releasing 15 to 35 salmon on 2-3 daily rods. „We‘re seeing a good blend of big fish and grilse and the runs have been excellent, better than in some of the other rivers in the region,“ Jón told us. The biggest fish this season have been up to 100 cm plus.
