Sea char are found in all parts of Iceland. More so in some parts than in others. For example they are not prominent in south coast or southwest coast rivers. As we travel gradually further up north along the west coast, sea char grow more important. The are the mein fish in the West fjords and very many north, northeast and east coast rivers have big runs of sea char. They are usually weighing 1 to 3 pounds but bigger fish are caught all the time and every season has it''s 6-8 pounders and while a certain Eyjafjardara was in its pomp, 10 pounders were a feature every season.
