As sea char are the main quarry in the Upper Haukadalsa, there has been a decline in recent years due to the sea char fading in Icelandic rivers. This season saw a modest come back that everybody is hoping to be the beacon for things to come. It was the same in Upper Haukadalsa, the catch improved worthwhile and a total of 367 sea char were landed plus the added bonus of 35 salmon. This is a far better outcome then in 2007 which hopefully has been the bottom line.
